our first Pinterest project!

Okay... so I'm addicted to Pinterest... but seriously, who isn't these days? ;)

Unfortunately for Andy that means we have projects to complete, and by "we"' I mean "he"... I am not the least bit crafty.

Now... On to the project! I kind of hate having my make-up in a bag where it's all mixed up & you can't see everything, so when I saw this idea on Pinterest, I knew I just had to have Andy make one for me!

Here is my inspiration...

Make-up Magnet Board

I'm new to this blogging thing, and just as new to this crafting thing, so I realized a bit too late that I hadn't been taking pictures. I have a few, but for the beginning of this "tutorial" you'll have to use your imagination.

Materials:
Picture Frame (mine was a $6 frame from Goodwill)
Spray Paint
Piece of Sheet Metal (Your local hardware store should have this; my local Home Depot did not, but Lowes did)
Metal Clippers (You can also see if someone at the hardware store can cut it for you)
Magnets
Hot Glue Gun

Firstly, you'll need to take the glass and current picture out of the frame and spray paint it to match the decor of your bathroom.

Then, if you did not have the sheet metal cut down to size for you, you'll need to trace the glass from the frame onto the sheet metal in order to make sure you have the correct size.  Using the metal clippers (you might want to wear a pair of work gloves since the metal is sharp), cut the metal along the line you traced.

This shows the cut piece of metal

Next, simply place the piece of metal into the frame and secure the back so it doesn't fall out.

**My inspiration piece has a piece of fabric attached to the sheet metal using spray adhesive.  I wanted more of a modern/contemporary look, so I left the sheet metal exposed.

After that, you'll need to hot glue a magnet onto the back of each of your make-up containers.  You might need more than one for some of them; I needed four on the back of my MAC eye shadow container!

I still need to get a few more containers to place my brushes, mascara, and eye-liner in.

Finally, hang your Make-Up Magnet Board onto your bathroom wall and enjoy the ease of use!
